About Fino Foods
Fino Foods is a leading importer and wholesaler of artisan speciality foods. Our range includes handcrafted cheeses, premium charcuterie, seafood conservas and other distinctive products sourced from respected producers both internationally and from outstanding local artisan makers. We supply chefs, restaurants and speciality retailers across Queensland, New South Wales and the ACT, as well as distributors across Australia.
The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Operations & Purchasing Assistant to support our purchasing and operations team. This role focuses on the smooth coordination of day-to-day administrative and operational tasks.
Key responsibilities include:
Placing supplier orders and maintaining purchasing records
Following up on deliveries and supplier communications
Booking and coordinating freight
Maintaining operational spreadsheets and internal data
Providing general office and administrative support to the team
About You
You are organised, reliable and comfortable working with data and processes. You communicate clearly and take pride in accuracy.
Suitable candidates will demonstrate:
Strong attention to detail and organisational ability
Solid spreadsheet skills
Clear written and verbal communication
The ability to manage routine tasks with consistency and care
Previous experience in purchasing, logistics or operations is not required. We are primarily looking for candidates who demonstrate strong aptitude, curiosity and a genuine willingness to learn.
This role may suit university students with an interest in business, as well as individuals with experience in office administration seeking flexible work within a supportive team. Full-time opportunities may also be available for the right candidate.
What You’ll Gain
This role offers exposure to the practical side of food importing and distribution, including logistics coordination, warehousing operations and supplier management. You will also gain insight into the world of premium specialty foods, working with products sourced from some of the finest international producers as well as exceptional local artisan makers.
You will also receive training in our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, providing valuable practical experience with business systems widely used across modern operations and supply chain environments.
Hours
Flexible by arrangement within standard business hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
